DCS 2nd graders have been exploring solids, liquids and gases.  They have learned that everything on earth is made of matter and even our bodies have all three states of matter.  Matter can be weighed and takes up space.  They've used graduated cylinders to measure liquid volume and have experimented with freezing various liquids and solutions.  Students participated in a chemical reaction lab with vinegar and baking soda.  Matter is everywhere and they've proven it can change!
